Nice surf day at Galveston. Well it shows to prove you never know what the surf will look like and sometimes the forecast can't predict the odd sets that come in. It came out of the blue, surf was up and good but didn't last for long. Longboarder getting a ride and fighting for every bit. Oh, and if you haven't heard, today is Pi Day, that's 3.14.15.... :)

I was a stone throw away from Seabrook, TX so I though I'd stop by and paint. This is one of those rare occasions I use just my palette knife, since I forgot my brushes. I knew something was a miss. Super nice day, sunny, shorts weather for sure, and a cool breeze near the surf made for fishing for sure or whatever floats your boat, lol. Photo below of the setup as I painted.

A good day at Galveston is when you can catch a good wave near the jetty that's when you know your starting to have a big day. If you catch them further out chances are they are big but go mush real quick. There's a sweet spot in there where they just keep rolling on. Those rare days are the best ones though, they break further out and are big enough to keep on going. I've seen some long rides on those days.

Really liking these frames from King of Frame. I'm not affiliated with them, just to let you know. This frame is called the Marin Frame and they are really well built. Most of my paintings featured on the blog I post a photo with how it could look framed. If you buy one of my paintings and would like to have it framed for you I can do that also. I charge $40 plus the cost of the frame and shipping and it can be ready to hang right out of the box.
