Today was a stay at home day, no traveling, so I looked around to find something interesting to paint and found this rubbish pile. Nice day to paint but the clouds and sun were playing with me again until it calmed down some about twenty minutes toward the end and was able to pull in closer to what I was interested in.

I was a stone throw away from Seabrook, TX so I though I'd stop by and paint. This is one of those rare occasions I use just my palette knife, since I forgot my brushes. I knew something was a miss. Super nice day, sunny, shorts weather for sure, and a cool breeze near the surf made for fishing for sure or whatever floats your boat, lol. Photo below of the setup as I painted.

Painted on the same day as the crabber below. The clouds were mostly foggy but whizzing by heading to the right. This low lying cloud floated by which I thought was a nice touch.

Landscape Plein Air

As I post this today the wind is howling and makes me feel as I did the day I painted this small painting.  It was a cold and windy day at White Rock Lake.  As you can imagine, it was hard keeping all of my painting equipment together.  I started with a brush, but ended up painting with a palette knife.  I was painting with a Monday morning plein air group.  Outdoor situations make you paint fast and deliberate.  I probably need to get out of the studio and paint outdoors more in 2015.  This painting is for sale....contact Kay if you have comments or questions.  Thanks for looking....Kay
