Purple Passion Blue Hydrangeas - Flower Paintings by Nancy Medina
Purple Passion Blue Hydrangeas
by Nancy Medina
16X12
Oil on Archival Panel
We had a busy weekend making pansies and hydrangeas bloom in Lees Summit, Missouri this weekend. Tomorrow's menu includes sunflowers and if we have time, oriental lilies, too! Thanks so much to Connie, Robin and Mary for hosting and coordinating for me this week, talk about your Dream Team! Here's a peek at what these talented artists took home from class today. The smiles were extra big - we had just been served hot chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven during our afternoon break. Flowers, chocolate, warm cookies and friends, sounds like a recipe for happiness to me...

Class Demonstration
Pumpkin and Pansy Celebration was one of my class demonstrations today in my Lees Summit, Missouri, workshop. We were so lucky to find gorgeous fresh pansies to serve as our flower models. After two days under the spotlight, their little heads were nodding, so we set them out in the chilly wet air this evening to give them the refresher they wanted. It's never a good thing when you're pansies aren't perky, I always say.... Tomorrow, blue hydrangeas in a teal glass vase! But today's puzzler, see if you can spot the candy corn in the picture below...
Can you spot the candy corn in this picture?

Oil on Archival Panel
Sold
Berries and Creme Lily Trio was my sixth class demo in Rockwall, Texas, and I am always so sad to say farewell to a class of enthusiastic, talented painters, most especially when they bring me pastries! Thanks so much Rosemary, my enabler, donut supplier, and new BFF for bringing two dozen delicieux donuts this morning. What in the world could be more fun than painting fresh flowers in the colors we love, while having just a few glazed treats while we're at it?
My next stop is Kansas City, and Connie Turner's fabulous art studio in Lees Summit. I have one seat that just opened for this workshop, and would love to see you there! With or without donuts! Read more....

Purple Spangle Sunflower was my class demonstration in Tennessee last weekend, and I'm packing up again for a workshop in Rockwall, Texas this weekend. I'm excited to announce you can now pre-order my new DVD, Ranunculus and Daisies, for a discounted price. This 90 minute DVD features step by step lessons on how to paint daisies, delphiniums, orange ranunculus and one of my favorite blue patterned vases. Stay tuned for images from Rockwall, we'll be painting near the park right on the lake this weekend. I'm always hopeful a four footed visitor will wander in when we leave the doors open, since the dog park is right next door!
