WINTER IN HONDO VALLEY by Texas Artist Dyan Newton

Winter in Hondo Valley
11 x 14 Acrylic on Canvas
Available
Dyan Newton Website

This was painted from a photo I took last winter while traveling through Hondo Valley.  I had traveled this road for the last 40 years or so, but never noticed this sweet little church.

This was one of the paintings completed in my last acrylic workshop.  We all had a great time.

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio -
a departure from the Garden photos!

A morning in my neighborhood
when a dense fog
created a wonderland
hiding the trees, houses
and the street.
Lovely!

I love the lines of the masts
from the boats and
the piers on the dock!

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio - more fog & boats!

The fog eventually began
to break up a bit at the
surface of the water.

But up where the pelicans
were flying, it was still very thick
I wonder how they see
where to fly in
the fog!

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio - more fog & boats!

We finally have a bit of sun this weekend
after days and weeks of rain!

This photo is a reminder
of how the weather changes
we have inland can play
out on the coast - fog!

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio -
a departure from the Garden photos!

The fog was lovely
on the island the day
these pictures were taken.

Here are some brave souls
taking a sailing lesson
in the midst of the fog!

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio -
a departure from the Garden photos!

On the island looking for
abstract boat images,
but the fog rolled in and
this was one of the
wonderful images
I brought home.

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio -
a departure from the Garden photos!

Went out to pack the recyclables
into my car to take down to the Recycle Center
which is on the way to my yoga class.
Stepped outside into a wonderland
of dense fog hiding the trees
and the street.
Lovely!

immersing the trees
until the glowing sunrise
a dense morning fog
