A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio, In The Garden series.

This was taken at the Houston Arboretum.

Feeling a little mushroom-y today!

Coming down the mountain
Through the drizzle
To the scent of the first mushrooms.

Baking Day by Food Artist Kristine Kainer

Oil on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas
20 x 20 x 1.375
Purchase Information

This painting reminds me of my Finnish grandmother's kitchen in the Bronx. She was always baking something. Her apple fritters, though, were heavenly!

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio, In The Garden series.

I never grow tired
of peering into a reflecting pond
with lily pads floating
in the clouds.

Suspended in air
the lily pads are floating
on top of white clouds

Purple is such
a wonderful color to have in the garden.

It is also easier than red
to photograph, particularly outside.

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio, In The Garden series.

Another shot from the Dallas Arboretum.
A rare find of objects
from three seasons
in a single photograph.

frozen for a day
a single fall leaf captured
between spring flowers

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio, In The Woods series.
At the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary
yesterday with my fellow Miksangers.
The sun decided to play hide
and seek, mostly hide!

 moist brown against black
caught between water and stone
a fall leaf pauses

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio, In The Garden series.
At the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary
this morning to catch the warmth
and sunshine.
First time at the Sanctuary - quite a lovely
little spot off of the Beltway!

 Jumbles of brown leaves
Softening the forest floor;
A single green leaf

A piece from my Zen Moments portfolio, In The Garden series.
The contrast between the bright green
leaves and the brown one underneath caught my eye.

We caught a break today with the weather,
finally seeing some sunshine.

I am hoping to get to the Gardens again
tomorrow morning to continue
on a photo project I am doing this year.
