Wheat Fields by Kay Wyne

Wheat Fields

30" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Contemporary Landscape Painting

A big sky with fast moving clouds and a colorful wheat field is my subject matter for this canvas.  Using a wide flat brush I built up the paint on the clouds, giving them some shape and movement.  The tall grass has reflections of the sky painted in it.  This painting has been excepted into the Master's of the Fall Juried Art Exhibit at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.  Contact the gallery for more information.  Thanks, Kay Wyne

24" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Contemporary Floral Landscape

Wildflowers, a wide open scene and a calm, grey sky give this painting a quiet and peaceful feeling.  The flowers in the foreground are colorful and textural.  The horizon is foggy and mysterious.  The sides of the gallery wrap are painted, so framing is not necessary.  This painting is looking for a new home.  Contact Kay Wyne for purchasing information.  Thanks for looking at my art.  Kay

Contemporary Landscape Painting

This contemporary landscape is ready to hang...frame is optional as the sides of the canvas are painted.  This is a calm and peaceful painting.  The clouds are moving and have abstract qualities...you can almost imagine looking up and seeing images and shapes develop as they move across the sky.  This painting is for sale.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking at this blog...Kay

Blue Skies Above by Kay Wyne

Blue Skies Above
24" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Landscape Painting

Blue Skies Above is a very painterly painting.  I used broad sweeping brush strokes on the sky to give it movement and depth.  I didn't skimp on the application of paint, as there is texture built up on the canvas.  The clouds fade into the horizon.  This painting is part of a current exhibit at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas.  Contact ME or Pam at the the gallery for purchasing information.  Thanks for looking at this blog...Kay

Day #5 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days

I just finished this painting yesterday in the studio...I was inspired to paint a very simple and peaceful landscape, which is a change-up from my normal palette knife/landscape paintings.  I like layering paint to get puffy clouds that are moving across the big sky.  This painting is drying at the studio!  Be sure to check out all of the neat paintings in the 30/30 Paint Challenge.  Thanks for viewing...EMAIL ME with any comments or questions.....thanks, Kay
